Here is a brief plot of the movie Rashomon.
A samurai is found dead in a quiet bamboo grove. One by one, the crime’s only known witnesses recount their version of the events. But as they each tell their tale, it becomes clear that every testimony is plausible yet different. And each witness implicates themselves. What’s going on?
Rashomon effect can be seen in everyday life. Different people remember different events differently. What is fascinating is that all of them can be right. There can be more than one truth. Isn’t that idea scary, that there can be more than one truth. Or may be, if you think about it, this idea can be liberating. A weight off your shoulders. Your truth is not the only one that is out there. Stop thinking it is universal. Relax. There are ways in which the world will blow you mind that you can’t even think of. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
Btw I didn’t know TED did such videos.
Hope you enjoyed it. That was all the gyaan that I will be sharing in this edition. Promise. Moving on.
How can you make a stone quarry feel so poignant?
Rock of Ages is a Granite quarry. Apparently a special type of blue-grey granite is extracted here. This is their latest commercial.
Beautiful.

Music🎵
This week, I came across a Livemint article by Sanjoy Narayan about All India Radio. All India Radio is an Aussie band, formed in Australia in 1998 , and who in this brief period have produced 26 albums. Most of which are in a experimental electronic zone. I must add they make for some good WFH music
and up next is another amazing video and song. This music has been inspired by David Lynch and the video has been inspired by Miyazaki.
More songs
Sula Guin from the album Afterworld
The North Sky from the album Red Shadow Landing
Intrigue from the album A Low High

This week’s theme? Bhindi - Bollywood + Indie
Sherni released this week. I am yet to watch it. Of course, Amit Masurkar’s previous film Newton did quite well. It was in fact India’s entry to Oscars. But before Sherni, and before Newton, there was Suleimani Keeda.
Suleimani Keeda was about two writer-friends who want to shake the Hindi film industry. As indie as it gets. It featured a terrific cameo by the late Razzak Khan.
Further ahead.
Killa.
Avinash Arun is a director-cinematographer. As Cinematographer he shot films such as Dhrishyam and Masaan. As director, he recently helmed Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok. Today’s recommendation is the absolutely sweet Marathi film, Killa. This was Avinash’s debut film as director. Available on Zee5.
And on that note, we bring this edition to an end.
Any typos you came across were totally on purpose :)
